What is Face mapping?What is your acne telling you?

Today we will discuss a interesting concept called “Face-mapping”.I have been meaning to write a post on this but some how it got dealyed. After Ashu(@ashu6074) posted a video in the forum section (which you can check out here),I thought I as well as do a post on it.Have you ever wondered why you get acne in the same place all over again?? Read along to find out more about it!


Face is divided into various zones.Each zone is linked to internal organs of the body and often indicates the problems associated with it.This is called face-mapping devised by Chinese Medicine.

Acne Zone Organs Causes Remedies
Zone 1:Forehead
Digestive System
  • Lack of Sleep.
  • Certain food allergies like dairy.
  • Food rich in sugar content.
  • Stress.
  • Unwashed hair/Styling products.
  • Junk food.
  • Sleep for 6-8 hours.
  • Maintain healthy and balanced diet.
  • Practice proper hair hygiene.
  • Drink plenty of water which will helps in flushing toxins out of the body.
Zone 2:Nose
Liver &Heart
  • Eating Spicy food.
  • High Salt intake.
  • Limit spice & salt intake in your food.
  • Exercise everyday.
  • Include fruits & vegetables in your diet.
  • Maintain your blood pressure.
  • Avoid junk food.
  • Avoid stress.
Zone 3:Areas surrounding Eyes
  • Lack of drinking water.
  • High consumption of tea,coffee.
  • Lack of sleep.
  • Smoking/Drinking.
  • Fatty/Deep fried food.
  • Avoid smoking/drinking.
  • Sleep well.
  • Maintain healthy and balanced diet.
  • Drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated.
Zone 4:Cheeks
Respiratory System
  • Sleeping on the sides.
  • Using Cellphones.
  • Smoking.
  • Junk food.
  • Poor dental hygiene.
  • Food rich in sugar content.
  • Pore-clogging make-up/Dirty make up brushes
  • Wash your pillow covers once in 2-3 days.
  • Wipe your Cellphones using cotton and dettol/rubbing alcohol.
  • Maintain good dental hygiene.
  • Avoid fatty foods.
  • Avoid Smoking.
  • Use non-comedogenic make up and clean your brushes regularly.
Zone 5&6 :Areas surrounding the lips
Hormonal(Commonly affects Women)
  • Menstrual Cycle.
  • PCOS/Thyroid.
  • Spicy/Deep fried foods.
  • Lip care products/Lip balms.
  • Test yourself for hormonal imbalances.
  • Exercise and eat well.
  • Practice Yoga.
  • Taking zinc and vitamin B supplements helps.

Zone 7:Chin & Jaw line
Stomach &Intestines
  • Unhealthy diet.
  • Junk food.
  • Constipation.
  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Include foods rich in fibres and roughage.
  • Avoid junk food.

My problem areas were cheeks and jaw line which was mainly due to thyroidism for which I am under treatment.Additionally my Epiduo acne regimen made all the difference.So guys face is not only the index of mind but body too.So don’t ignore even the smallest sign where your body is try to telling you something.Take good care of yourself and stay healthy ! :)
